Faith Matters Organises Conference on ‘Community Responses on Policing Anti-Muslim Hate’

2015 10 15 Faith Matters Conference

Faith Matters is holding a conference on Thursday the 15th of October 2015 at the University of Westminster, which will look at ‘Community Responses to Policing Anti-Muslim Hate.’

Given far-right activities, social media being used to promote hate, the Syrian refugee crisis and international events like the murders of Charlie Hebdo cartoonists, anti-Muslim hatred has been in the news and has created a sense of insecurity for Muslim communities.

This conference will explore the role that forces take in recording and understanding the context of language around anti-Muslim hate. Attendees will also hear from leading community members around their perception on community confidence in tackling anti-Muslim hate, by statutory authorities.
