Metro Youth – Lambeth LGBTQ Youth Group

METRO has been commissioned by Young Lambeth Cooperative to deliver an integrated service to support young people in Lambeth in regard to sexuality and gender identity.

The service includes 3 parts:

  1.  A youth group for 13 to 19 year old lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people
  2. Workshops about sexuality and gender identity for Y9 pupils
  3. Training sessions for staff working with young people about sexuality and gender identity

The new youth group is being set-up for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) 13 to 19 year olds.

This will be a weekly group providing a range of fun and structured activities. It will run as a ‘closed group’ so members will meet first with a youth worker before joining.

Whilst we confirm a venue and day, young people interested in joining can get in touch and can help to plan and develop the group too if they like.

The second and third parts of the service are workshops for Y9 pupils and training sessions for professionals working with young people, both addressing sexuality and gender identity.

If you might be interested in one of these training sessions, you can register your interest for the coming academic year 2015/16.

To get involved or to make an enquiry, please contact METRO Head of Integrated Youth Services, Dan Baker
