Lambeth Libraries plans for LGBT History Month – celebrated in February each year. Throughout the month promoting LGBT writers and activities.

For the Happy Birthday RVT! Project, artists have documented the Royal Vauxhall Tavern’s 60 years as a site for innovative, influential entertainment.

Wednesday 25th February “How was it for you? Coming Out Stories” 7 pm (doors open at 6.30 pm) Brixton Library, Brixton Oval, SW2 1JQ Tel: 020 7926 1056

Inviting women from all generations for an open discussion about “coming out” as a gay or bisexual woman. Share you coming out story. How different was it before Google? Do you miss picking up the Pink Paper from your local library and scanning the personals?

Thursday 26th February “Equalities Conference” 9.30 am to 3.45pm Karibu Education Centre, Gresham Road SW9 7PH

Speakers to include; Lib Peck (Lambeth Council Leader), Elly Barnes (Educate and Celebrate), Professor Gus John (Institute of Education), Richard Rieser (world of Inclusion) and Rose McNeil (Head of Education and Equalities, National Union of Teachers).

Lambeth Hate Crime Reporting Stall

During February, Lambeth’s Hate Crime Prevention Coordinator Mark Healey will be available in Lambeth Libraries to talk about reporting hate crime. Don’t suffer in silence, report it and we can do something about it – making Lambeth a safer place for all.
