Macmillan Cancer Research – LGBT, BME or over 65?

Macmillan Cancer Research are looking for people from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) community, the Black and Asian community, and older people (65 years and older) who have had a recent cancer experience, to take part in an online research community starting this month.
The research aims to plug big gaps in evidence and to generate new insights, in order to explain why patient satisfaction and outcomes in these groups are sometimes poorer and to explore possible solutions.
The research community will last for 8 weeks. You will be asked to take part in a wide range of research tasks, at your own pace and from anywhere you like, for up to two hours a week. You will be exchanging with other cancer patients as well as with health professionals and diversity experts, helping them to understand your needs and learning from them too.

Your voice is important. They want to hear from you what the most important issues are and what could be done to address them. The online research community will be private, and your contributions anonymous.
To take part or to find our more, contact the Macmillan Inclusion team by October 5 at research.learning@macmillan.org.uk. You can also contact the project director, Dr Marie-Claude Gervais, on 07971 481964.
